Falcon 6X Now Approved for London City Airport Operations

Albinati Aeronautics is proud to announce that our Falcon 6X, is now fully authorised to operate charter flights into London City Airport (EGLC), an operationally demanding airport in Europe only one month after its first operation at Cannes Mandelieu Airport.

Why some airports require special authorisation

Not all business jets can land everywhere. Certain airports, such as London City and Cannes Mandelieu, enforce strict safety, regulatory, and environmental standards due to factors like short runways, dense urban surroundings, or sensitive noise zones.

These measures are not obstacles, they’re safeguards. To operate there, both aircraft and crew must undergo rigorous certification and training processes, ensuring every flight meets the highest levels of precision and control.

London City Airport: Business access in the heart of London

London City Airport (EGLC) offers unmatched proximity to Canary Wharf and the City’s financial district, making it a key hub for high-level business travel.

But its operational constraints are significant:

• A 1,508 m runway and 5.5° steep approach (compared to the standard 3°) limit access to aircraft specifically certified for such landings.
• Pilots must complete:

- Simulator training / Line training at EGLC 

- Recurrent checks

• Operations are subject to limited time slots and a Noise Categorisation Scheme (ANCS) under a quota system.

Through the coordinated efforts of Albinati Aeronautics, our F6X has successfully achieved the necessary certifications and approvals to operate in some of Europe’s most demanding airports:

• Full aircraft certification for steep approach and short-field operations.
• Specific pilot training programmes, including simulator sessions, line checks, and EGLC qualifications.
• Full regulatory approval from the Transport Malta Civil Aviation Directorate (TM-CAD).

With these certifications, our F6X is now among a very number of business jets authorized to operate commercial flights in full compliance into both LFMD and EGLC.
