Albinati Aeronautics is proud to support Mika Brageot and #11RACING in a new ‘Concept’ - Air Race X
Mika Brageot and his #11RACING team recently competed in the first race of the augmented reality series Air Race X, finishing in a strong 5th place.
Air Race X is a new concept race format that combines actual flight with the latest digital technology. Pilots fly in locations around the world to compete for the fastest time in a remote format called "digital rounds," which consists of six days of qualifying and a final tournament held over one day.
Using the latest measurement technology, all flight data is recorded and collected at the competition headquarters, where it is then converted into augmented reality flights by Styly.
Spectators in Tokyo were able to watch the pilots' flights up close using augmented reality (AR) technology via headsets or their mobile devices as the race planes were simulated to fly through the streets of Shibuya. The race was also streamed on YouTube.
The #11RACING team enjoyed the race week from Mika's base in Villeneuve Sur Lot, it was the first time flying the MXS race plane since Red Bull Air Race finished in 2019. With a reconditioned engine and a new paint scheme, Mika hopes there will be continued momentum leading onto more races, whether AirraceX or at physical race locations around the world.
"It's been so good to race again, and to have such great support from new sponsors and fans,” said Mika. "We're looking forward to what is to come in the future of air-racing."
