Saturday, 15th of August, 2015, Aérodrome de la Côte
The cloudy day did not discourage the four thousand people who came to attend on “Aérodrome de la Côte”, Prangins, Switzerland, the 5th edition of the biennial International Fly-In airshow.
This event, organized by the “Club aéronautique Swissair”, was filled with entertainment and was a thrill for all to see. The stunts, the military aircraft fly-bys, and the skydiving manoeuvers took the crowd’s breath away.
As in the previous editions of this airshow, aviation lovers got the chance to admire in-flight and approach on the ground about fifty civilian and military aircraft. Of the seventy expected airplanes and helicopters, only twenty were unable to keep their promise due to the unfavorable weather conditions in the “Rhône Valley”. Nevertheless, the impressive collection of aircraft featured two Antonov 2s, aircraft of the Swiss Air force, the Super Puma Display Team and, undisputed star of this year’s edition, the Breitling Super Constellation.
As a proud sponsor since 2013, Albinati Aeronautics SA showcased a privately operated business jet – a Dassault Falcon 50EX, which drew a few rounds in the Prangins sky to the delight of the present crowd.
Aviation being a small world in western Switzerland, this meeting was above all, a friendly gathering of professionals, connoisseurs and fans. Spectators could mingle with war bird, recreational and experienced pilots, questioning them, sharing their passion, or just chitchatting.
“Passion for aviation and friendliness are key words for this event. Pilots are happy to show their airplanes and share their experience and their stories with the spectators. On that particular day, you were able to meet pilots, aircraft owners, aviation services providers and aviation insurers. Usually, airshows are closed for visiting aircraft, we are not. All visiting aircraft are welcome. Do not forget that the airplane which flies you on holidays is flown by two pilots who have started their career in an aero club like ours.”, said Fabien Moret – Chairman of the organizing committee and Operations Control Manager at Albinati Aeronautics SA.
Preparations for the next edition in 2017 are well underway. Stay tuned for more information!
